Viva Las Vegas

This June I took a weekend trip to Vegas. I did actually take more pictures, but pretty much all of the ones from the Bellagio's Aquarium did not come out, thick glass and all, and a lot of my night time pictures didn't come out either, but the ones I do have are very good....

This is the Stratosphere Tower and Hotel, which is the hotel I stayed at.

Friday, which was my first day in Vegas I had most of the day to myself since Shawn (who I was visiting (had to be on base til the afternoon. I decided to walk to the other end of the strip. I was later told that it's 5 miles from Stratosphere to Bellagio. LOL no wonder it took me all day, at least with all the stops I made. I discovered the monorail later, DOH.

This is Huffanpuff, a 5 year old dolphin at the Mirage's Secret Garden. She's a big ham, whenever she saw someone with a camera near her tank she'd jump out onto the beach and spin around then pose for her picture.

The Secret Garden at the Mirage also boasted a large number of white tigers and white lions as well as an elephant (grey). Here are two of the best pictures.

The MGM Grand had an awesome lion exhibit. The viewer walks through a series of glass walkways which the lions can walk under, on top of (which you see pictured), or around. The day I visited there were two staff guys in the exhibit with a lioness and they were playing a lively game of catch. The lioness was right on top of me as I took the picture! You could tell the lion was enjoying herself too, which was awesome.

This is a picture of my friend Shawn that I met up with. He was stationed in CA at the time. We actually met on the cruise I went on earlier in the year.
